Agilent Expands Local Manufacturing in Shanghai, Accelerating Smart Transformation
Recently, Agilent Technologies hosted the ceremony for the expanded product portfolio at its Shanghai Manufacturing Center in Waigaoqiao New Development Park. This marks a significant step in enhancing Agilent’s local manufacturing capabilities and driving future growth. During the ceremony, Agilent reaffirmed its localization strategy and announced the expansion of its product and service offerings through the Shanghai center. New products, including liquid chromatography instruments, cell analyzers, and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry systems, will better address domestic customer needs and strengthen local manufacturing capacity.
Today, the Agilent’s Shanghai Manufacturing Center has evolved into an integrated manufacturing hub and a Chinese laboratory productivity innovation center, offering gas chromatographs, liquid chromatographs, mass spectrometers, spectrometers, and customized smart solutions tailored for local clients.
Mindray Launches World’s First Clinically Deployed Critical Care AI Model
Mindray Medical has launched “QiYuan Critical Care Model,” the world’s first clinical large AI model for critical care, at an event in Beijing. Developed in collaboration with Tencent, QiYuan integrates both companies’ expertise in critical care medicine and AI tools.
By leveraging IoT, cloud computing, big data, and AI technologies, QiYuan addresses clinical challenges with four core features: condition-based Q&A, suggestion generation, medical record drafting, and knowledge queries. It reconstructs digital profiles of patients, applies critical care logic for in-depth analysis, and delivers rapid support to medical staff. Key capabilities include integrating patient conditions within 5 seconds, predicting trends and offering advice based on digital profiles, generating clinically guided medical documents within one minute, and achieving 95% accuracy for critical care knowledge queries.
The launch of the QiYuan Critical Care Model is a milestone for “AI+Healthcare,” demonstrating immense technological feasibility and clinical value in real-world medical applications.
Sinocare Expands Global Reach with CGM Products Entering the European Market
Recently, Sinocare signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Italy's A. Menarini Diagnostics, a leading European medical diagnostics company. Sinocare’s Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) products will enter the European market under a co-branded partnership.
Sinocare has authorized A. Menarini Diagnostics to exclusively distribute its CGM products across over 20 countries and regions in Europe. A.Menarini Diagnostics will promote Sinocare’s CGM product access, marketing, and sales within the European healthcare system. Sinocare’s iCan CGM, the first CE MDR-certified CGM product in China, marks a key milestone in the company’s internationalization strategy.
Europe is the world’s second-largest CGM market. This significant distribution agreement is expected to accelerate Sinocare’s CGM product penetration and market coverage across Europe.
Ningbo Hantech Medical Acquires BD's Italian Manufacturing Factory
Hantech Medical Devices Co., Ltd. has officially acquired Becton, Dickinson and Company’s (BD) Villamarzana factory in Italy, including land, buildings, equipment, and all assets. BD has also signed a manufacturing services agreement with Hanke Medical to continue sourcing products and services from the plant.
The Villamarzana factory, located in northern Italy, was established in 1973 and employs 125 staff. The site spans 49,389 square meters (approximately 74.15 acres) and includes state-of-the-art cleanrooms, laboratories, mold workshops, R&D testing facilities, and warehouses. Key performance indicators—including safety, compliance, quality, delivery, cost, team management, and ESG—rank among the industry’s best.
Hantech Medical specializes in minimally invasive vascular catheters, oral consumables, infusion devices, and critical components, processes, and formulations. As a national high-tech enterprise and “Little Giant” SME in China, Hantech Medical owns 176 patents and 64 trademarks. The team is optimizing production capacity at the Italian plant and planning expansions for additional orders. By Q2 2024, production capacity is expected to increase by 45%, enabling Hanke to better serve clients in Europe and North America. The factory is projected to generate at least $18.43 million in revenue next year.
