Professor Yang Zhenglin elected as an academician of CAS

On November 18, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) announced the list of elected academicians of CAS in 2021. According to regulations, 65 academicians and 25 foreign academicians of CAS were elected in 2021.

Among them, 10 people from the division of Life Sciences and Medicine were elected as academicians of CAS in 2021. Professor Yang Zhenglin is the only elected academician who majored in clinical laboratory diagnostics in 2021.

As an expert in clinical laboratory diagnostics, Prof. Yang has long been engaged in clinical molecular diagnosis and the clinical application of disease genes. He is a leading person in the prevention and treatment of blindness in China. 

In August 2020, he won the "Hero Cup" Outstanding Youth of Experimental Medicine Prize of China. In March 2021, he shared the thematic report "Pathogenesis of Retinal Diseases" at the 6th China Experimental Medicine Conference in Chongqing.

As an internationally renowned scientific researcher and national outstanding Communist Party member, Yang Zhenglin always adheres to the leadership of the party, keeps his mission in mind, and has won unanimous praise from all sectors of society.
