Roche Diagnostics LightCycler® PRO System Receives NMPA Approval

Roche Diagnostics’ LightCycler® PRO System, a real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) analyzer, has received approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). As the first high-end real-time quantitative PCR system in the industry to be manufactured locally in China and obtain NMPA registration, the approval marks another major milestone in Roche Diagnostics’ commitment to its “In China, For China” strategy. By bringing advanced PCR technology into clinical practice, the system is expected to enhance precision diagnostics and treatment, ushering in a new chapter in the high-quality, efficient development of molecular diagnostics.
The approved China-manufactured LightCycler® PRO System will be produced at Roche Diagnostics’ Asia-Pacific manufacturing and R&D center in Suzhou. Production will adhere to Roche’s globally unified technical standards and manufacturing processes while fully complying with China’s medical device quality management system and regulatory requirements. The launch reflects Roche Diagnostics’ continued evolution from introducing global products to driving local innovation. By combining global standards of performance and quality with advanced manufacturing capabilities in China, the company aims to improve access to high-quality diagnostic solutions and further enhance the quality and efficiency of clinical diagnostics in China.
BGI Genomics’ Strategic Partner in Mexico, Géntodos, Opens Mult omics Center Laboratory to Strengthen Local Partnerships in Latin America

BGI Genomics’ strategic partner in Mexico, Genómica para Todos (Géntodos), has officially opened its Mult omics Center Laboratory, marking a new phase in the partnership—from initial technology transfer and platform development to localized operations and service delivery. The milestone represents another significant step in BGI Genomics’ efforts to deepen local partnerships across Latin America and expand access to advanced, affordable precision testing services for local communities.
Addressing key challenges in Mexico’s genomic medicine landscape, including limited access to specialized testing resources and the need to send certain samples overseas for processing, the Géntodos Mult omics Center Laboratory integrates end-to-end local testing capabilities, covering sample preparation, automated sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, report interpretation, and clinical support. By shortening the turnaround time from sample collection to clinical decision-making, the laboratory aims to provide clinicians, healthcare institutions, and patients with more timely and reliable precision testing services.
Ruijin Hospital and Dian Diagnostics Join Forces to Develop a World-Leading AI Agent for Leukemia Diagnosis
Recently, Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Dian Diagnostics announced a partnership to jointly develop a world-leading AI agent for leukemia diagnosis. The initiative aims to set a new benchmark for the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, particularly in the diagnosis and management of complex diseases.
Leukemia is among the most challenging hematological malignancies to diagnose, given its complex classification and the longstanding reliance on expert clinical judgment. The AI agent under development will leverage medical knowledge graphs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and gene mutation analysis to establish an evidence matrix through cross-validation of multiple data sources. Following established clinical workflows, it will perform stepwise reasoning across diagnosis, prognostic risk stratification, and treatment recommendations, providing clinicians with traceable and verifiable decision-support insights.
Upon completion, the AI agent will also feature adaptive learning and iterative optimization capabilities, enabling it to evolve continuously in response to updated clinical guidelines and accumulated real-world case data, while keeping pace with advances in clinical practice.
