BGI Again Welcomed A Super Large Order Up to 2.475 Billion Yuan

On May 10th , BGI announced that NUPCO of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had recently added a further $38,176,076 to the contract. So far, the order through three cumulative, the total amount has reached 386 million dollars, equivalent to 2.475 billion yuan.

The contract specification is extremely high

NUPCO, which is wholly owned by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, is a leading provider of healthcare products procurement, re-export, warehousing and distribution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia's sovereign-wealth fund is one of the largest in the world, with more than $300 billion in assets.

Shenzhen online signing ceremony

On April 26, 2020, BGI and the Saudi government held a special cross-border online signing ceremony. Abdullah Alrabeeah, Advisor of the Royal Palace of Saudi Arabia and Director of King Salman Humanitarian Assistance and Relief Center, Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Chen Weiqing and Wang Jian, Co-founder and Chairman of Huada Group attended the meeting. Fahad Al-Shebel, CEO of NUPCO, the National Joint Procurement Center under the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of the Saudi government with Li Ning, Chief Development Officer of BGI.

Online signing ceremony in Riyadh

Under the cooperation agreement, BGI will enhance the testing capacity of five existing national laboratories in Saudi Arabia and build a new laboratory after the introduction of the "Fire Eye" laboratory overall solution in Saudi Arabia. In a very short period of time, the combined COVID-19 detection capacity will reach 50,000 people per day.
