Bio-Rad Laboratories Gets CE Mark for Immunoassay Controls

Bio-Rad Laboratories has obtained the CE mark for next-generation versions of its Specialty Immunoassay Plus quality control reagents, the firm said Wednesday.

The SPIA Plus quality controls, which were already available in the US and Australia, are now available in Europe.

The liquid-format reagents can be used for QC of immunoassays that detect analytes including procalcitonin, IL-6, active vitamin B12, and others, Bio-Rad said in a statement, and support vitamin D standardization compliant testing through incorporation of optimized vitamin D ranges. 

The barcoded controls have been optimized to offer open-vial stability to minimize QC waste and are offered in the firm's load-and-go InteliQ and Liquichek formats.
