On 5 December, Lei Haichao, Director General of China's National Health Commission (NHC), met with Saudi Health Minister Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel in Beijing for an in-depth discussion on enhancing bilateral health cooperation.
Lei welcomed Fahd's attendance at the 2024 World Conference on Traditional Medicine in Beijing. He highlighted the longstanding friendly ties and fruitful collaboration between China and Saudi Arabia under their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Lei proposed leveraging the newly signed memorandum of understanding on health cooperation to advance collaboration in areas such as health policy, workforce training, global health security, and traditional medicine, thereby contributing to the construction of a global health community.
Minister Fahd commended China's remarkable health achievements and expressed his commitment to strengthening practical health cooperation to enhance the well-being of both nations' populations.
On 1 December, Saudi Health Ministe Fahad Al-Jalajel led a delegation of government officials and business representatives to visit BGI. During the visit, the two sides explored recent advancements and future collaboration opportunities in genomics and precision medicine.
On 2 December, Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel led a delegation of government officials and business representatives visited Mindray’s headquarters. The delegation explored Mindray’s cutting-edge digital healthcare solutions and discussed strategic partnerships to align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 healthcare transformation.
On 2 December, the delegation continued its tour with a visit to Snibe. During this visit, NUPCO and Snibe signed a MoU to foster collaboration in medical product supply within Saudi Arabia. This agreement represents a significant milestone in strengthening cooperation in medical diagnostics. Both parties committed to advancing healthcare development in the Saudi region and promoting innovative healthcare solutions.
