MOROCCO – Techniques Science Santé (T2S), a distributor of high-tech medical equipment based in Casablanca, has expanded a multi-year agreement with American company GE Healthcare, with a focus on ultra-modern modern technology.

Through the extension of this frame agreement, Techniques Science Santé becomes the exclusive distributor for GE Healthcare’s products and services in sub-Saharan Africa.

GE Healthcare has granted Morocco’s medical equipment supplier T2S the exclusive right to solicit orders for its healthcare machines.

As the exclusive sales representative, the T2S group will also be in charge of distributing health solutions and providing continuous training for technicians on the continent.

The joint statement said: “The T2S group and GE Healthcare pledged to facilitate access to modern medical technology in sub-Saharan African countries.”

The renewed agreement extends the collaboration and builds on the significant progress made since the initial cooperation between T2S and GE Healthcare, which was struck more than three decades ago.

This deal comes barely two years after Helios Investment Partners acquired a majority stake in the largest and most diversified group of MedTech companies in Morocco.

In an official note, Abdel Raouf Sourdough, General Manager of T2S, said: “We have worked with GE Healthcare for nearly 35 years to support the latter to be one of the leading companies in the Moroccan market in the distribution and maintenance of high-tech medical machines.”

The Moroccan medical equipment supplier and GE Healthcare will expand cooperation in the medical technology space to include additional educational or professional development projects.

“To implement this new mission, our main priority revolves around training users, both male, and female, to use modern technologies,” pointed out Abdel Raouf Sourdough.

Technicians will enroll in training courses offered at GE Healthcare’s Private Higher Institute for Studies in the Medical Professions facility in Morocco.

These technicians will have access to a wide range of medical devices and clinical programs for different medical tests during their sessions conducted at a highly-equipped training room within GE Healthcare’s facility.

Consequently, the renowned collaboration presents a unique chance for doctors from all over the continent to benefit from training opportunities in Morocco.

The doctors participating in the professional development courses offered in Morocco will also have easy access to the latest technologies in the field of diagnosis and treatment.

This deal comes as the T2S group is exploring market opportunities to accelerate the introduction of advanced medical technologies to sub-Saharan countries.

For 25 years, T2S has been the leader in the distribution and maintenance of radiology and radiotherapy equipment.

T2S has operations in 17 African countries, including Morocco, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, and Mali, just to name a few nations.

“Thanks to the new partnership, the T2S group will be able to expand its presence across the African continent,” said Abdel Raouf Sourdough.

The Moroccan group also seeks to enhance the exchange of expertise in the health sector with a group of regional partners in other African countries and beyond.

The newly expanded collaboration agreement will build on the Moroccan group’s strategies to solidify its position as a global expert in the field of medical technology.

“With this new deal, T2S group will benefit from GE Healthcare’s expanded employee network with the aim of creating new partnerships in other African countries like Madagascar and Djibouti,” added Sourdough.

Ultimately, T2S and GE Healthcare hope to empower clinicians with digital technologies for faster medical diagnosis and speed up clinical decision-making processes.

The new agreement will combine T2S’s wide network in medical equipment distribution with GE Healthcare’s expertise in manufacturing healthcare machines to improve access to advanced medical technologies.

“We are very excited after signing this long-term partnership with the T2S group, with whom we have worked for more than 35 years,” said Rob Walton, President and General Manager of GE Healthcare in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Through this extension, the two parties will combine their respective strengths to offer training courses in modern medical technology that will be available for physicians and health professionals.

T2S and GE Healthcare also pledged to provide the latest technologies and machines to sub-Saharan African countries.

“The Moroccan group will undertake the task of expanding the coverage of our solutions and the possibility to access it in French-speaking Africa,” underscored Rob Walton.

Speaking of the T2S group’s qualities, Walton emphasized that GE Healthcare chose to work with the Moroccan company based on its world-class capabilities.
