DiaSorin welcomes heavyweight to join as the President of DiaSorin China

On April 14, DiaSorin announced that Mr Tony Chan is the President of DiaSorin China. He will also serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DiaSorin China.

The official announcement is as follows:

Given the rapid growth of today's Chinese market and the strategic importance of its business in China, the DiaSorin Group needs to focus specifically on the strategy and development of the China region. With its unchanging mission and values, based in China, DiaSorin is committed to contributing the most to the China healthcare industry by serving Chinese patients at the core and meeting the needs of hospitals.

In particular, the stringent requirements for locally manufactured products and instruments, as well as maximizing DiaSorin's products and services in the Chinese market, are driving the following decisions:

1. Continuing to make meaningful investments in the development of the new Shanghai facility, including products, instruments and additional R&D activities.

2. Reorganization of DiaSorin China to a global regional-level organization with direct management of all local commercial, plant and staff functions.

To this end, we created a new leadership role for the President of DiaSorin China.

In this context, Tony Chan has officially joined as the President of DiaSorin China, leading the local commercial and plant teams and reporting directly to the DiaSorin Group Chief Commercial Officer. Mr Chan will also serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DiaSorin China.

As the President of DiaSorin China and the Chairman of the Board, Mr Chan will provide overall leadership of the China business from a strategic and day-to-day operational perspective, which is critical to fully realizing the company's products and services to the local market in China. 

Mr Chan has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry in Greater China and has held global and regional executive positions in the in vitro diagnostics and medical device industries for a number of multinational and local companies.
