Leica Biosystems and Paige announced that they are expanding their previously announced digital pathology partnership.
Danaher subsidiary Leica has chosen Paige as the preferred provider of software-as-a-service digital pathology image management and viewing software for Leica's line of Aperio GT 450 digital pathology slide scanners. Under the deal, a co-branded version of Paige's platform will be used as the core interface between pathologists and Leica's systems, the companies said in a statement.
Customers using Aperio GT 450 scanners will be able to access Paige's full suite of digital pathology software, including the firm's FullFocus viewer, FullFolio worklist, prostate and breast cancer solutions, and biomarker algorithms, as well as all third-party artificial intelligence software solutions deployed via Paige.
"With the widespread reach of Leica Biosystems scanners, we look forward to providing a seamless end-to-end solution that makes the transition to digital pathology easier for hospitals and laboratories around the world," Paige CEO Andy Moye said in a statement. "The goal of our partnership is to help accelerate the ease of adoption of digital pathology and the efficiency with which pathologists can evaluate patient cases and to provide them with the insights needed to take decisive medical action."
Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
